I'm puzzled by the exact parsing of 3d....

Nobleman taking year to be concerned about lough in part of Ireland (6,5)

I've got the answer and I can get all the first word and the first letter of the second word, but can't see how "lough" = the last 4 letters?

Concerned is care. Lough is l, as in L. Ness, I think

Ok, I've figured it out. I didn't realize that 'L' was an accepted abbreviation for "lough", but Chambers gives it so all's well.
