Would some kind person help me out today please. I have managed only 4 answers so far. The answer to 1a would probably give me a good start.

Itsme, it's just an anagram ('drunk') - leading to an exotic-looking word. The definition is 'sign of progressive senility'.

The anagram is of "by saucer sips" and is to do with increasing loss of hearing.
