If you don’t want to see the answer, look away now, but I do, so help, please. Clue: Light gas without energy floats around tank to begin with. (3,3). All I can work out is NON TAN but that is NON SENSE to my eyes.

Non Fat, light.
Neon = gas
without energy = remove the E, so Non
Floats around tank … to begin with = use the first letters, so FAT.
