2 A. A four-letter flower (with the first letter dropped), four-letter word (rather slangy) for 'face' (noun), with four-letter 'space' inside (the face part).
Cheers Malone, I couldn’t see that flower.
Also I thought that word for face was specifically Scots, certainly I know it from my childhood and also from a great Proclaimers song, ‘Jean’.
Any ideas on 1 down?
Apart from the description 'partition' (and this word as title) I thought the preamble was quite clever. Working out that some of the non-crossing words had to be inside the shape added a typical Inquisitor challenge. Just my opinion, these things are always a bit subjective.
