Is anyone else unhappy with 18 across? It should in my view be Iowa not Idaho. Abbreviation required is Ia not Id.
Does anyone agree or have I something wrong?

I agree with you williamseal.

I took it that only the initial of each state was used, rather than the abbreviation...

I think it must have two letters to contain the reversed 'novel' (ROMAN reversed inside IA + A[bout] + O[hio]).

...Sorry - 'about' reverses ROMAN + A + O(hio)
