I'm sorry, but I think many of these alphapuzzle clues are dire!

I have found the grid and cannot see where Pamela would fit, so it must be incorrect answer by someone on AB

I completed the Alphapuzzle without solving the cryptic clue. Pamela is nowhere in my grid. In fact I think the answer is WomAN - I get wan meaning pale but not sure about the “om” in the middle .......

I did the same, completed it without solving the clue. The only one I can see that may fit is SEPIA but how, I don't know. I prefer your answer WomAN.
