'One' seems to be the answer, but, to me 'one' and 'wan' do not sound the same, but hey ho......

I agree, Cerasus. The answer seems just as poor as the original suggestion of 'Pamela'.

Looks like the infamous homophone has struck again. (That'll be 4 times this week from different tabloids)

Maybe Setters should leave them out of the National Editions and only use them in local Editions where the Dialect would be understood.

I'd be happy to see most homophones (alleged homophones) obliterated. If they have to be used, I'd appreciate an indication that the 'sounds like' is not nationwide.
