Lovely to hear from you, lovely to hear more about your travels. (The postcard was good, but there's always the limitations of space.) I was quite excited about taking myself off to Paris - no cricket being the big attraction - but as we all can't move anywhere just now, I'll stick with my usual haunts, Hamelldaeme and Roam (full name; Roaming-thestreets).

I'm sure you had a lot of adjusting to do on your return. I loved your 'nerd immunity'. I can't understand why the government dropped that one so quickly, maybe the Cabinets got too many nerds already?

I'm sure Jigjag was delighted to hear you were keeping the Ivan Napple link going.

Thanks. I am not missing football too much but I will certainly miss cricket. I suppose the only good thing is that the Hundred is off.

I read your discussions with grunger re Labour leadership. I was pleased KS was elected though Lisa Nando is very impressive. I cant take to RLB.

Pleased Lisa`s been appointed Shadow Foreign Secretary - Keir looks the part and should at least be able to make Labour electable again.

It`s a worrying time for all, so, I suppose sport is not a priority for many. I just hope the smaller clubs survive, Scarborough CC managed to lose money last season despite the Yorks matches attracting big crowds - Durham had planned to play a `home` 50 over game there this summer but ...

... glad you`re back to cheer us all up!

Of course I didn't mind. As Malone said, I was delighted you wrote it. By the way, I am glad the telegram with Ivan's phone number reached you. I didn't know your address but thought "Miss Grunger, Pie Eater, Wigan" would be enough. The Royal Mail are amazing at finding people.

I read that Liverpool FC are the lastest club to have "furlonged" their staff. I thought that was to do with horse-racing. That reminds me - I enjoyed the Grand National but there were an awful lot of people there. How did they get away with that? ...and I didn't see any football staff in the final furlong.

Thanks for your comments. I forgot to tell you that Ivor Berger has gone back to Germany. He phoned to tell me that the thought of few months lock down in McD.... would not be a great idea, so he was going while he could. I couldn't imagine anything worse.

I liked 13A in the Times today, though Jigjag wont be able to parse it.

I was pleased Sir K was elected but thrilled about the For Sec appointment. I suppose Lisa will have to meet Trump at some stage but she can handle him

Yes, 13 A was a good clue and I'm sure Jigjag will appreciate it (though maybe not instantly?) I was sorely disappointed in 3 D - it's been around longer than I have!

As life is rather restricted for us all now, I've been sorting out my bookshelves. I found a few old favourites, things I might return to...

One Hundred Days Of Solitude
A Room With A View
Journey To The Bottom Of The Stairs
Around The House In Eighty Days
Gone With The Windows.

I got 13A straight away - chimeme which must be a little sound, made by a wind-chime etc. It fits with 2 crossers but I cant solve 6D so I cant be sure yet.

Malone

My One Hundred Days of Solitude are up on 26 April. I assume I will be allowed out then.

I have done the "Around the House" route but might vary my walk today.......... at least I wont have to do it for 80 days.

I read that a man had climbed Everest in his house, obviously a large one, but where did he get the sherpas from.

I think the BBC should show the film `Groundhog Day` every day - it might cheer us all up!

My `Corona` beard is coming on quite well and I haven`t got a single weed in the garden - for a change!

Pleased you got the reference to Ed and Lisa

I`m sure Lisa has a bright future - leadership might not be right for her just yet.
