Without doubt this has been the hardest RT for a long time and I have to admit defeat on a few. This is bad enough but two of the solutions annoy me.

5 Down - "About to take off cloak (4) - the answer being "cape" which I'd guessed and I'm assuming from "es-cape" but is it just me?

The one of which I cannot fathom the reasoning is 14 Down - "Different ideologies about map lines". I had worked this out and obviously have no problem with the "map lines" but where do the "ideologies" fit in?

I know it's unimportant and life's too short but "Man - it bugs me!"

5d C - circa - about
APE - take off (copy)

I guessed the other one too!

14d: isotherms = map lines (def)
other- different
isms - ideologies
