22 Merry Widows, widows who'd be happy, so not unconsoled.

@Malone - but what's a Merry Widow? The only references I could find was a type of woman's basque. It's also the name of an operetta.

Merry Widows is a phrase, quite well-known I think! It's in Brewer's Dictionary - it comes originally from the operetta you mentioned.

Whetstone, Brewer's defines a 'merry widow' as 'an amorous or designing widow'.
