We were thinking Cane,as in Cain and Abel,but as spelling is not right,not so sure

By the way clue is "murderer most foul first?,"not murder as I initially wrote

Yes E is definite, as it belongs to answer of earlier clue "concretE proof,Yes Cane looks good its the spelling thats bothering me ,should't it be spelled Cain??

I've never seen the Biblical Cain spelled any other way,i don;t think Cane can be right although i can't see an alternative.So maybe? It does sort of fit the clue.

is the A definate?
