So friedlich. Thank you, jazzgirl.
No, not related, but she's from my hometown and was in high school with my parents. My mother said it was quite the moment when she sang "I'm Called Little Buttercup" in the school production of Pinafore- a touch of humor because she was quite the hefty lass, but she blew everyone's socks off. I always thought she was a breath of fresh air at the Met, hardly the Maria Callas type, being married to a cop and all. An astounding voice; her Wagner was as if from the depths of the earth.
A trip abroad? Tahiti again?
Merry Christmas!
