I have completed the grid. Identified the two clues with interchanged definitions.
They intersect.
But have no idea what to highlight.
Has it anything to do with the symbol for 20a?

I have 4 extra letters missing in across clues. I have last 4 words starting at 37a to 32d.

Please help.

The extra letters lead you to what has to be shaded. Which letters are you missing, sunray?

Across clues seem like Nobel pa????? cerize one......... on.
Letters after pa do not make sense.

There's a letter between the 'p' and the 'a'. There's a letter between the 'e' and the 'r'. I think you have too many ????s.

Not necessarily individuals. You could just Google the first three words,along with the relevant date/time (going back in time from the rest).

I will have to pull out a different color marker than the yellow one I use.

Think I've got the theme, the 7 word phrase, and possibly the crossed definitions (are they very central?)
But as for the colour?

The theme implies one colour, which with
1d gives a day you're likely to be dumped
12a gives a playing card
25a gives a rock band
20a implies an associated flower
and gives nothing with the other two interchanged words, as far as I can see

But a similar, deeper colour gives more coherent answers e.g. with
1d Rock song
12a rock band
25a singer
24d a Twitter page
20a a colour

Having read it through again, maybe I'm trying to go a step too far?
The theme gives the colour. The content of the clues has no significance, it's what they do that counts.

Is that right, please?
