H-M-R-S-S. I can see H(al) and U(niversity) and definition HUMORISTS but what has MORISTS to do with PURITANS?

It looks like H(enry) + U(niversity) + MOR(al)ISTS (Puritans)(Al leaves)

Glad to help Magpie. I'm still slightly puzzled with the wording because it does seem to be indicating that 'Al' leaves 'Henry' but, that aside, I don't see how else it can be parsed (that's not to say somenone else might see it differently!)
