I still have a few to solve. 14a, 18a, 26a, 25d, 19d still eluding me.

Deciding how to enter answers took a while.

I think 1a is made up of two parts. First 4 letters are for an animal (not regular spelling), The second part is for a Baseball player.

Google shows it as a trade mark. My confidence level is 50%.

Just put the first three letters as you mentioned Jogamel. (e.g. W in the third position) Rest will follow.

However 6d is unusual.

Still far from getting the names.

Sunray, 1a is two words (6,6)

I have a 6,6 themed “name” at 1a which is a well known 1970’s sitcom. The other “names” are characters. I do not have the actual answer to the 1a clue though?

I guess it's toes ('near base section') and you fill in the rest?

That is the only word I have and if you assume pump is shoe it sort of works but not overly happy with it.

Yes, I agree. Maybe it's meant as a sort of homage to the signs at the start of each episode?

I had Dawgcatcher in mind since it is an insert that catches oil etc, in a pump. The (12) indicted it is one word.

The hints have not worked to find a 6,6 answer yet.

The first three letters aren't DAW, but FAW - which, with the sitcom hint, should help you see what's needed.
