5D Belabour with a stick - put in a few stitches
BASTE

"put in a few stitches" = def, but I can't work out "belabour with a stick", unless it's BEAT + S?

Chambers dictionary gives 'baste - to beat with a stick', so I don't think you need the 'beat +S'.
