Hold on, just reading this.

Surely Dogger is not a sandbank. Dogger Bank is a sandbank. The Dogger refers to the rock formation underneath and the boats that used to fish there. The Bank is the sandbank. It's like The Sunday Times. "Sunday" is not a newspaper.
