I thought I had better continue here, rather than on the Guardian thread. I have been talking to a Poole friend who remembers "Nora and Harry" running the Beehive in the 1960's but cannot remember their surname

It was definitely in the 60s. I left the area after that.
The teacher went to school with my late mother.
I believe Adamson was her maiden name.

Nora was John Adamson's grandmother (John is a member of a group to which I also belong )

It is indeed.
I met Denise (Adamson) at a school reunion. She was a good teacher and we called her Bungy.
As far as I remember she had one daughter called Philippa living in Australia and spent a fair time over there after she retired.

We never did any local history at school.
So much more interesting than the stuff that was churned out to us........ of which I remember little!
