Surely, though, he pre-records every competitors institution and name, to be triggered when the competitor is first to the button?

I wondered that, Chris, but Roger Tillings' voiceovers
are performed live in the studio and his voice gets more energetic towards the end of the programme, as the questions speed up. He said he needed a large G&T after last night's show.....
Some of the show is edited later, if too many starter questions are not answered.

Cynically, the increasing energy could be pre-recorded too? It would seem daft to have Roger recognise and butt in each time the starter button is pressed.

Check him out ..he's one of the few artists who are happy (and capable ) doing the live voiceovers.

There would be no reason for him to be live in the UC studio if it was all pre-recorded :)

PS I would love to have him as the voice of my satnav.
(Mine has a rather pompous female )

My hubbie likes ours. She never shouts, argues or answers back!!
