Struggling to finish this one. I have the theme and the 13 letters but cannot resolve 11 ac. Any guidance please

Those of us without the paper need the clue if want to help.

From the answer to each clue a letter must be
deleted wherever it appears before entry into the grid; definitions
refer to the full unmutilated answer, and wordplay to the grid entry

11a Sailor initially on vessel, hurt cousin - is priest not in the frame? (13, 2 words)

Not in the frame is the definition. The 'sailor' is a common abbreviation, followed by obeying the 'initially on vessel' - that gives the full (mutilated) first word.

I think it's Rot,nonsense and Te, note - so Bettor, given in Chambers
