Puzzling over last one. 35a. Study note may need scrutiny, with respect (9) ??tent??? I'm torn between ATTENTION and ATTENTIVE, but can't parse either of them convincingly. Any suggestions?

I'd go for attention.
It looks like a triple definition to me but I'm not sure of 'note'.
