Hi all, can't parse this one.
14ac Pick and mix this with woad to make talcum powder (8).
Why plectrum, apart from the definition 'pick'?

Take 'woad' from Talcum Powder to leave Plectrum.

Thanks Mamya, but don't really see how the clue is telling us to remove the letters of woad from talcum powder.

mix this (PLECTRUM) with woad to make talcum powder.

The setter was asking you to find the word to add. Not subtract.
