Yes a "chain" is a measure of around 66 feet.
To "post" a letter and "mail" a letter mean the same.
Chain mail was flexible armour in days gone by.

The hazard is "risk"
Put the last letter "k" to the front of the word and you get "kris", which is a dagger.

I thought it had to be a back to front word but have never heard of a kris!
