9 looks like LUDOS (if it's a word)

Bath is double definition- it is a tub and also a measure of about 8 gallons.

Just out of interest, BATH is also a biblical Hebrew measure = 5.5 gallons.

Anyway, I wouldn't mind some help myself with 28a. I have
