I have managed to complete RT 23 which only arrived today(Wed) instead of the normal day(Tue) so maybe no-one here has had a chance to solve RT23. In 9a. it says : "Naff friends, that's to say, kept in (6)". I can think of only one word that fits but try as I might I cannot work out how to arrive at the answer from the clues.

Interestingly I then checked with RT Crossword Solutions and the solver has got exactly the same word. He/she normally provides an explanation of how the answer was arrived at by highlighting certain parts of the word, using the same colours in clues and answer to indicate the connections etc but in this case has used no such annotations. It is almost as if he/she cannot work out how the clues give the answer either.

Any help is appreciated

Good Evening all - I'm stuck on 17 D " Sitcom to raise problem with father". ?R?S?E? I'm assuming it's an anagram of raise plus ? Further clues please.
