I do apologise for lowering the tone, but these are difficult clues despite!

That meant to end ' despite the smut'!

But I don't see the parse myself

So, the anagrind is bum or orang utan salad. Urbandictionary website says the latter means a thick brunette lady garden (my adjustment of their term!). Could rusty brillo pad also mean that?

After some research

bum = the anagram indicator.

Orang Utan = red headed
salad is a rude word for female hair

(both can be found in the urban dictionary online)
