Sorry Bananabean, got your expression of gratitude with your "73". My first post and now I feel a 5985!

Between bouts of work today I have managed to make some progress with this but I have one possible answer which I cannot make fit. 21 down. ( Attack companion in lift - 5 ) I think it should be pinch but cannot make that fit the entry pattern I have ( 1?3??1 ), A nudge in the right direction would be appreciated.

Your last 2 letters are correct. you need another three letter word for "attack", with the definition "lift". Result is a word often used for "lift" with regards to clothing.
