4a. Bananas - excellent with marmite? (8)
Need help on this one.

crackpot

The answer appears to be crackpot although I wonder if the clue is right. I would have thought "crackers" would be correct. I.e. What you put your marmite on

bananas = crackpot
excellent - crack
Marmite - Pot ( an earthenware pot) not the spread

Agree that crackers seems a better answer but crackpot fits.
