I would be grateful for some help with the last two:

11A Buyable? (5) I???L
6D Firing a bottom-up band (5) U?S??

The last letter of 6D is the third letter of 11A.

Either you or I have made an error Seamus.
For 6D I have A?S?N which makes the answer a common word for fire-raising. The 'bottom up band' I think refers to a well-known orchestra.
11A is a word with which I'm unfamiliar meaning open to bribery. I have V?N?L
The one I'm unsure of is 5A Intensive sound (5) C?A?H could be either of 2 possibilities? Anyone have clarification?
BTW where is everyone today??

Thanks. That means I have to re-think 5A & 5D!

Please can you parse ARSON. I see the definition and the first letter but how does "RSON" relate to "bottom-up band"?

Thanks, I know the orchestra well! I've corrected 5D now and VENAL is correct for 11A.

I guess 5A is another of Myops' specials with two possible answers both equally valid! I think I'll go for the one with L as the second letter.

Whilst I'm here, I think there's a minor error in 12A:

Split's about say governess ? (6)

Shouldn't that be "governor" rather than "governess".

And finally, where is this month's Clootie?????

20d Tie that sort of string (5) seems to be t?o?g but can't parse the obvious answer. Maybe my 23a is wrong! Help
