Feeling very foolish but can't find the first letter of unclued 43A, given that the other three are aty.
Help anyone?

Have you sorted 30 D now? 43 A will be much more obvious.

30 D is an old word, one I'd never heard of. 43 A is still commonly used, but not as a noun (which it is for this crossword). Hope this is of some help.

Yes, 30 D ends in 'n'.

As these are unclued answers we're discussing, I didn't think the lack of detail matter.

Yes. At the risk of sounding miffed I can't help thinking that Pocket is a better answer, being consistent with1 and 5D, don't you think so?

Sorry, I don't think Pocket's any better than 30 D - to me they're all just... (thematic word)s.
