Nearly there but cannot fathom one or two. Any help appreciated.,
Some pond life one man found wandering in open country. I think 5 letters. Also Gun- before loading one this may absorb you totally. Also need confirmation that scrip is the answer to Lop of cooked oysters cut by wife of clerk. Probably 5 letters.

A random thought, maybe wrong, for 'Some pond..'- Field? The F from 'pond'+'life' anagrammed gives Field/ open country.

I have all three as seven letter words.
1. Is an anagram of 'i man' in a synonym for 'open country'
The others I haven't fully parsed, but definition for 2 is 'this may absorb you totally', and 3 is 'of clerk' if I'm correct

Many thanks. I half suspected seven letters. Have now got pond life and absorb but cannot find the actual word " of clerk" in Chambers although the ending in AL is logical
