Better, jazzy, but still don't see how "taunt" helps. "Give" doesn't sound right in the clue.

I think give should have been gibe

Thanks for explaining, jazzy - impressed that you can parse even when the clue is given (giben?) incorrectly!

I looked in crosswordsolver site and found 4-letter word for drawn. Taut looked good, so I put an n in. Then it became clear that gibe would fit instead of give.
