10A may be ANOA, animal from Sulawesi.
Cannot parse it.

I thought LIme was CALX but it does not fit.
37a could be corn?? (Captain's first and last) but don't know how to parse the rest.

Can someone explain what "Leaving for Listener Gateshead" is?
I assume it requires Scottish word for laid-back.

The clue is:
Leaving for Listener Gateshead, laid-back Glaswegian goes on vehicle underwater (6)

What are the first three letters in 25 A? NOY would fit with the theme but it does not make a word.

Help appreciated.

37a is corn. It is one of the "too short" answers. The other two letters need to be entered thematically.

I think Fet is outmoded Fetch.
So if Corn becomes Cornea, 32d becomes Feta.

28d is also short. I just made it plural.

Still need answer on 1A.
Thanks.

Sunray, Anoa is Ana, gossip, with O for Oscar inside.

For 6a I have es (the end of onE acrosS) + cap(top) + e (magazine's last) = escape (issue)
