Re "Krazy Kat" (in italics) not sure if I have to change Z or the V in 17a

You don't change it - it's not an italicised clue.

3D is in the New Oxford American Dictionary as early 20th century US slang, & in Chambers.
36A is not in any of mine but apparently in Merriam-Webster. Easily inferable though, with "Blasted" (7) & anagrind "apart".
However, "Queen" doesn't seems to be a bed size in the UK according to Wiki.
