If it helps, WAP is an Irish word for making a bundle of straw.

Thanks you all for your help yesterday. Just one more query as I cannot parse it
One retired, retreating from a carnivore (4) D?E?. Is it DIEB? Die (retired) + b (retreating from the letter "A" = dieb (a jackal)???
Any better explanations? I'm not happy with my parsing!

I still don't understand but I trust you are correct zozozo. Many thanks. I'll leave it at that.

I'm not sure that I am correct (hence question mark)- so please don't hold me to it!

I'm sure that zozozo is correct. One retired is "one in bed" hence BEID and "retreating" is DIEB which is a carnivore.
