Can anyone help me please with this last clue? I think some dialect words may be involved but it beats me and I am Lancashire born and bred!

Can't offer convincing solution but DIB STONES might do it. Contained TONES for SOUNDS, if that helps......

Found, in an online dictionary, that dibs means money in small amounts. New to me!

Chambers Dictionary has "dibs" meaning money, too.

And I do know the word "dibs" meaning money!
And "dibs " is a children's game game using "dibstones".
