Very clever and good fun. I did of course fall for the misdirection of 1ac and headed out to sea for a while.

Very clever indeed. It must have taken ages to set up!

Hi teenieleek
Am presently beached! Can you give me a hint as to how to ascertain the theme names from the two pairs of unclued lights. I have listed them with their blanks but can make no sense of them. Thanks

Farr, there are two people in the grid, the other unclued answers are just words that contain a letter to contribute to the highlighting, 1 A with 22 A was my way into the theme.

Farr, you've probably sorted it by now but the names come at 1,22,25 and 34.

I've completed the grid and found two diagonal words, but I cannot make sense of the direction "Both phrases are (14, three words)". The unchecked letters I have for the unclued lights are u,u,u,h and either f or c. I think that I'm missing something

OK, I've figured out the lines and the phrases (it was another H not a U) but the reference to 14 three words still eludes me.

I've no longer got my copy, but I wonder if you've gone astray. The highlighting is of two things, both of which have three words.

... and both contain 14 letters.
