Sorry but how would PUTTS relate to " Places on the radio .. " ? I'm guessing the -UTT- can't be right ?

Puts (places) when heard on the radio,(homophone) is supposed to sound like "putts" (what a golfer does)

Ah .. right .. not sure if I've ever seen " on the radio " alluding to a homophone ? Usually it's ... say, ... " thanks :-)

PUTTS sounds dodgy OK

4D Do ones best for most of the fight audition ( 3,3 ) gave me TRY OUT the U

5D Perceptive university in Free State ( 6 ) I got ASTUTE for this although ATTIRE might fit better??? This would give OUTRE as a possible answer.

Dodgy indeed! I can't envisage any English pronunciation where "putts" sounds like "puts"!
"Astute" is correct though -
U in anag STATE

I cannot for the life of me imagine a situation where 'Putts' doesn't sound like 'Puts'

what on earth is the difference is pronunciation or is it a regional thing.
