Making slow progress.

Have seen conflicts and 2 letters in a square but not more (yet)

Help with this one please:

3D. Vulgar Shakespeare embraces old means of deepening channel (10)

The length could be longer than 10 as more than one letter in a square is possible at the outset.

Thanks.

The last clue before I work on the endgame.

32. Golf director without lines began to work (6)

Again there can be more than one letter in a cell so actual answer could be more than 6 letters long.

Also does anyone know how to interpret the number 100,008 in the title?

Thanks.

I can't help with your clue, but the number reflects it being a website/ subscriber-only puzzle. I read fuller details somewhere, but didn't pay much attention!

Thanks malone.
Last week it was EV 1258. Now it is 100,008 for Xmas.
So it does signify something.

'From Christmas Day eight years ago, all puzzles got the number 100,001 so that paper-only solvers didn't have a break in the sequence. The next year all Christmas Day puzzles were 100,002 and so on. The next Christmas Day EV, in 2022, is likely to be EV 100,014.'

That's a summary from the crossword editor.

Sunray - golf is the Nato alphabet for G (gee). Director is D and "without" here means outside. And lines are...
