i believe I have asked in the past for people to parse their clues (at least when I had to set and judge Clueless), but some said they like to do so for themselves. Difficult.

I have an idea- could rossim perhaps put a note to tango in her preamble next week regarding his/her vote?

Cheers all

Personally, I was happy with the parsing. Thursday is a busy day for me and I admit I have missed the odd gem in the past.

I could have a go at putting a note to Tango in my preamble but I'm not sure if he/she actually reads it! Maybe a separate alert message on that morning would be better.

I tend to eliminate from contention clues that I can't parse, on the basis that if I can't understand it knowing the solution, then it's not a good clue.

However there have been gems that I've missed by doing this...........

I'm similar to chrise. I force myself to have another go at getting ones that eluded me first time round, and, depending on time/mood etc, I'll either ignore any I didn't get or I'll ask for parsing.

I admit that it saved me some work, being given the parsing!

To summarise: I don't mind which way we go on parsing.

Thank you Chris and Steve for your comments. As yet nobody has said they don't want parsing.

I am on the pro parsing side of this debate particularly for clueless which can be a pretty tough job.
