Rec = leisure facility, recreation area
Tor = Hillside.

Director - he controls.

PS. I never use the word 'Rec' but the characters in Coronation Street head off to the 'Red Rec', a park, quite often!

When I was a small child I heard people refer to the Rec. The image in my mind was of a huge wreck and it sounded very exciting!
