The other looks like HORSETAIL (anagram), but I don't see the definition

Horsetail is a Turkish standard, denoting rank ..... (thanks to Google )

What a strange emblem to have, jazzy - a pernicious garden weed! We have some friends who are considering moving house to get away from it.

I think it must be PEERLESS but can't see why. I know Crosby beach with Anthony Gormley statues is known as 'another place'. however it has no peer.
