Sorry if someone has already mentioned this but 24dn in Cryptic Jumbo 1233: "Looks round Chesil Beach, perhaps, for flag" (5,3,7) shows me that the setter doesn't know Chesil from a hole in the ground.
The answer STARS AND STRIPES parses as STAR (SAND STRIP) ES.
Shouldda checked Chesil, chum: no sand there.
