I'm really stuck on this clue, help much appreciated....

It looks like it parses thus:- 'Help' = HAND in 'Canadian Territory' = NU (Nunavut) which would give NHANDU - Unfortunately that's a tarantula not a bird. There is a bird that is flightless called a NANDU but clearly it;s a letter short.

Ok, I fear this post will get lost among an avalanche of kitchen adverts so I'll go with my original parsing of NHANDU as correct and just assume it's a definition that doesn't appear in free online dictionaries. I'm off to bed so I won't be able to reply to any responses until tomorrow.

My printed Chambers gives NHANDU as an alternative spelling for NANDU, a rhea
