Can someone explain the preamble please and how to fit in the answers? Eg for the very last clue I have biogas but no idea where it fits in!

The reference for the last clue is MG, so the answer starts in the cell at the intersection of the column marked M and the row marked G. Many answers have more characters than the available cells in the grid.

I have a full grid and instrucrtions and can see where to start but not sure what we are supposed to 'draw'. Does following the instruction reveal a figure ?

Yes, I think the instruction is so vague, it could mean anything. Are we supposed to join up the double-squared cells or follow some sort of cryptic message shown by the letters ?

I'm in the same boat. I have a filled grid, and the start and finish cell. I'm not given to endless grid-staring, so I'll have a look later. Not sure how to interpret the first word of the instruction.

crucifer - at school "describe a circle" meant draw one, and I guess that's what's wanted here. I'm assuming that both letters go in the double squares (rather than eg a greek letter in ABYZ). Then what?

Look at the letters in the first indicated square. Describe a line from there to the square that is referenced by its contents.

Repeat as necessary till you get to the last indicated square.

Hm, OK.

Any idea what on earth that's supposed to be or the relevance to the title?

Pretty galling to have an entry ready for posting and still not a Scooby what the point of the puzzle was.
