All done except 6dn and 35.I have something wrong. Ere?da?s. Clue: books on this before assistants cancel one. (8 hyphened).
On 35, can I assume it's a three letter word for not and the thick line is missing? (No clue, theme-related)

35 I think it has to be E-readers, but I didn't like it being plural (as the clue is singular. It's Ere, before + Aiders/assistants (cancel one = remove the 'i' so Aders).

My 35 is a four-letter word and isn't connected to 'not'.

Thanks Malone, should be books on "these", as you say.
35 hmm, you must then have it as a synonym for the second word in the quote. I have that at 24 dn. I thought I was clever with hematite. I had negative to start with but then couldn't find a bloody word for 35!

You're welcome. Maybe a steak for dinner would help?

Unfortunately it's fish tonight but thanks. Interesting how different minds work - I don't think I would have thought of food in connection with that word, well done you. Anyway, I wasn't happy with my spelling of hematite, standards must be maintained and it should have a bloody A in it. Off to cook the fish.

Glad I could help, teenieleek. Save your haematite for another day, another crossword!
