Any clues to 43 - Escaping animals break enclosure railings - but this one came back in fourth place (5)

I've been trying for ages but just cant get any handle on it

Question 43 was mentioned on the earlier, longer thread with people looking for help.

Sorry kace, that's my last one too (actually q.48). The clue given earlier hasn't helped at all so I'm still tearing my hair out!!

Oh yes, it is 48. Was having trouble with 43 but solved that one, earlier clue to 48 hasn't helped me either

Hi lady bee and kace - I can not see my way with the clue for 48 either, or for that matter, the clue given on the other thread for 27. Thanks for extra clue for 99 by the way - great - still had to work at it but got there.

winnie - loose suggests anagram of 'let' and it's inside a word for plenty. Answer is unusual word for something that doesn't get drunk e.g. dregs or sediment.
