I only remember as I voted for the Labyrinth puzzle as one of my favourite inquisitors of that year!
Novice, there is no need to anagram, just read alternate cells going across in the 2 relevant rows (cell 2,4,6 etc, the block shading positions).
Just got back from a day visiting student daughter so catching up. I guessed that the blocking had to follow the same as the Concise puzzle and that the final message had six words but why were we told to note the words from the Concise puzzle in alphabetical order ? I also realised the ''oddly-written' instruction was significant but could I find the six Wordsearch words !? Thanks to all for your persistence !
I was really impressed with this, spanning as it did two different crosswords in the paper. Once it was clear it was a maze it was just a matter of finding a way through that gave the "odd" message leading to the name of the place. Googling shows that 1457 is the address of the place. One of the seven words out of order and an obtuse title didn't really spoil it for me.
Slight change of subject. I'm going to be moving to Romania next year & the Inquisitor appears only to be available in the print newspaper. Is there anyone else out there who's found a way to feed their Inquisitor habit overseas?
Buy an ipad subscription - download the edition each week and print out a hard copy of the puzzle. We do not bother buying the dead-tree version. We read the paper and complete the puzzle wherever we are .... as long as we have wi-fi!
Well, what an utter waste of an afternoon. Just a compiler showing off. If anyone's still fighting their way through the tedious and clumsy endgame, save your time, it isn't worth it.
