Once more I need help please. Can someone confirm I have the correct extra letters in down clues 30 and 31 because I can't make sense of the instruction....

30 and 31 have the same letters - check it/them in Chambers (and it's referenced in the title, I think).

I have FC. Can you explain what you have got Malone? I hate to get so far and then fall down.

Tash, facial hair and I(f), though - I think! My parsing isn't always great.

On further scrutiny I have f f and yes, Chambers does refer to title. It still does not enable me to start on the perimeter though or indeed throw light on the cells...I think I need more help please.

jogamel ... have you got the 5 shaded letters. If so get an angarm of them and put "the" in front . that should help you sort out the "FF" bit.
