Not sure about two that cross.

5a - Delay brought about by cut in pace. (6). Wallop????? It's all I could think of because 8 d, whose 1st letter crosses the last letter of 5a, seems to be Pathways. Clue is tips from artist on height and width among rewards in courses (8). I assume rewards = pays; height and width = hw. Courses o
Is pathways. But then again, artist doesn't seem to come into it. Or maybe I'm completely wrong.
